The courses will be held from August 24th to September 2nd 2019 and will be concluded by a students' concert. The students will receive certificates of attendance.
Students may attend the courses, either as active performers (standing an admission test the first day of the course at 5:00 p.m.) or as auditors. In the admission test, the students will perform a free choice program of approximately 10 minutes duration.
Semifinalists of the competition may attend the courses as active participants, without admission test. However they must send their Application Form to incontrichitarristici@comune.gargnano.bs.it

The fees must be paid on Monday 26th August 2019 at the local branch of “Unione di Banche Italiane" (piazza Feltrinelli, Gargnano).
44th GARGNANO INTERNATIONAL COMPETITION

Special Prize € 500 offered by Associazione “Giancarlo Facchinetti” (Brescia) for the best interpretation of the piece by the Composer in the Semifinal Round
For Italian and foreign competitors born after September 1st 1984.
First prize winners or competitors twice awarded the second prize in previous editions are not allowed to enter this contest.
The contest is divided into three rounds:
I. Round (eliminatory):
Competitors are required to upload on YouTube a 10-12 minute long video recording, with a free choice program, including a Renaissance work. The video must show clearly the face, the hands and the instrument, must be recorded with only one fixed camera and show no signs of editing, even between separate pieces. Comments and "likes" must be disabled. The video must be uploaded "public", must be accessible at least until August 19th 2019, and must be entitled in the following way: NAME SURNAME - INCONTRI CHITARRISTICI DI GARGNANO 2019.
Competitors must send by e-mail to incontrichitarristici@comune.gargnano.bs.it, no later than the 22nd of July 2019, the following:

the competitor’s name, e-mail address and mobile phone number;

the link of the video recording;
-
the titles of the works with the names of their authors, performed in the recording;

the program that the competitors intend to perform in the following rounds (semi-final and final)

a photocopy of their passport or identity card;

the receipt of their registration fee payment that has to be scanned and e-mailed to incontrichitarristici@comune.gargnano.bs.it. Without proof of payment, the application will not be accepted.
The registration fee of € 50 for the competition must be sent to Unione Di Banche Italiane - agenzia di Toscolano-Maderno, IBAN IT24C 03111 55311 0000 0000 9881, SWIFT/BIC BLOPIT22 (Beneficiary: Comune di Gargnano).
The registration fee must be NET of charges and taxes.
Competition applicants will be notified the result no later than July 31st 2019. A maximum of 12 competitors will be admitted to the Semifinal.
II. Round (semifinal): a free choice program of no less than 15 and no more than 20 minutes, including:
- one or more movements taken from a work by Johann Sebastian Bach transcribed for guitar;
- one work from a later period;
- one composition by Giancarlo Facchinetti chosen between:
1. INVENZIONE per chitarra
2. TRE PEZZI BREVI (Preludio, Notturno, Pezzo anche troppo breve) per chitarra

The number of finalists will be left to the discretion of the jury and their names will be announced after the semifinal.
III. Round (Final): a free choice program of no less than 25 and no more than 30 minutes, including at least one work of the 19th century (classic or romantic) and one work of either the 20th or the 21st century, both originally written for guitar.
The program performed in each round (Eliminatory, Semifinal and Final) may not include works from other rounds.
The semifinalists will gather on Thursday August 22nd 2019 at 7.30 p.m. at the Centro Civico Multifunzionale "Andrea Castellani" (Via Teatro, 14, Gargnano) in order to draw the number determining the order of their appearance.
Competitors must provide the Jury two copies of the scores of the works they will perform.
The semifinal and the final shall be held on August 23rd and 24th respectively and will be open to the public.
